Hi Angelo168,
I've done a bit of searching on Google and found a Spanish forum where someone wrote that the 3CRW200 is BroadCom-based... Here's the URL, his post was made on May 14 at 11h17 and it's signed BocaDePez:
«huawei hg520 a potato
The 3com 3crw100 is based on Texas Instruments chips, and 3crw200 is based on Broadcom, like many others, with which it shares its problems.
This is the 3crw100 open:

Not 'DMT' since i didn't find it on its dedicated web site but i could be wrong - and you may be the one to tell us.
Knowing the ChipSet helps a great deal and should 'DMT' not support this brand/model then there's SNMP but i still have to see non-bloated SoftWare capable of generating graphics as useful as 'DMT's... Is it not similar to the USR 910x series which happens to have extended BandWidth Shaping in its GUI? If so i'd love to see what you can do with it!!!

| reply to Angelo_ Hi Angelo,
And... Looking at my 'DMT' captures from the post to which i refer, what do you think of the way the signal energy was spread across its spectrum after the ST got moved far way from our Demarcation box?
Isn't it puzzling?! See how the notches vanished!

| reply to DKS Hi,
Thank you both! Mine settled around 14 dB and the error rate is going down slowly as the main source of noise here is cooking activity. I wish i could get Error Rate curves from my ST546v6 to make some comparisons with my collection of GNet/DMT records but something strange happened, nonetheless - take a look at this post, i have no simple explanation:

| reply to Angelo_ Hi Angelo168, Hi DKS,
Would you mind if i check what has happened to the DownStream SNR Margin on your side? Mine is going down after a few hours, it's "bleeding" like other FirmWares i tried before; i expect the error rate to be around 3870 per day, which is usual in here.
The last time cared to test it using my GNet i had more like 1530 per day, which is about 60 % lower.
I wish you'll have more positive views on tha one!

| reply to DKS Hi DKS,
So, you couldn't resist the urge to try it? Well, i didn't leave my ST546 on-line long enough to get a good idea of what the late v7 FirmWare is about.
I noticed that Remote Assistance came with options called "Permanent" and "Temporary" but that was it for me, i'm in the middle of something so i needed to put back my GNet. Anyway, Remote Assistance is now using the "Administrator" password when set to "Permanent" mode but i wouldn't recommend it since any TelNet-based utility, such as 'DMT', will send credentials in clear text (which is why i'd prefer to have SSH support in 'DMT', 'STMT' and 'OrbMT')!

That's all i can tell about it so far, i'm looking forward for more reviews in the meantime! I won't mind if it makes me forget some previous releases.

I suppose the later item is required under v6.1.0.5, HiVolt? Yeah, have to use just the "Speedtouch (Thomson)" part for lower than 6.2.x.x.
Is there any good reason to upgrade to the newer one? I have absolutely no issues whatsoever. Though I'm thinking if it may fix the strange SNMP issues i had before trying to get PRTG to work, it was reading zero values on all the graphs. Have you seen a changelog anywhere? -- GO LEAFS GO! |

| reply to Bicephale Pissed is a very good description in how I feel. I had a rock solid connection one day and the next they totally switch everything by upping the download profile, downing the upload profile, switch me from Fastpath to interleave. I upload at full speed on the new upload profile but download at 30 k max
Ticket is open but Execulink gave me a hassle just to open one... |

| reply to HiVolt Hi Weales, Hi HiVolt,
It seems you checked your profile just in time for a surprize: speed was traded for InterLeave mode!
Perhaps you can ask for 4032/800 Kbps Fast then...

My SpeedTouch 546v6 uses a recent FirmWare so i've set OrbMT to the "Speedtouch V62 (Thomson)" option instead of just "Speedtouch (Thomson)". I suppose the later item is required under v6.1.0.5, HiVolt?
