| [Equipment] Can not login at 192.168.15.100
I am using the Linksys RPT300 which is connected to my wireless router. (Desktop doesn't have a wired Ethernet port), so I have to use the 192.168.15.100 address.
When try the address, the Login - Password screen appears, but no matter what I enter I can't not gain access to the settings.
I have tried
Username Password admin admin user tivonpw Admin Admin Admin router router user user
The firmware version that is installed is 5.01.04
Any idea what I am doing wrong or better yet, what's the username and password for login screen?
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

| Re: [Equipment] Can not login at 192.168.15.100 You should be able to login with admin admin. But obviously thats not working. Now the normal website to login is 192.168.15.1 not .100 Either way you should be able to get back in if you hold in the reset button in the back for about 15 seconds w/ a paperclip. Once it reboots go to 192.168.15.1 and try admin admin. If that does not work you may have to contact tech support for help in accessing your box. | |

| Re: [Equipment] Can not login at 192.168.15.100 Wait, I just realized what you are doing. Ok you are trying to access the RTP300 from it's WAN IP. I doubt this is enabled by default. So to get in the first time you may have to find yourself an ethernet cable or place the RTP300 in front of your wireless router just so you have a route to the LAN ports of that device. If all else fails the reset is never a bad option. | |

| Re: [Equipment] Can not login at 192.168.15.100 In the manual it says if I have another router to put the Linksys behind the other router.
Didn't want to put in front, in case it may damage my wireless router. Would I need a straight through cable connecting two routers?
I am getting a login page with the 15.100 address, but it may require a higher level username and password, so hence my request as none of the usernames and passwords above don't work.
Thanks for the suggestion though.

| Re: [Equipment] Can not login at 192.168.15.100 Thanks for the advice.
I have placed the RTP300 in front of the wireless router and the 0.1 address works, but then I have no wireless internet access, hence the need for the Straight through cable I bet.
So I can configure the basic settings as admin, admin works on that level.
Funny thing happened though, when doing this, Line 1 of the RTP300. which i had bought off ebay, starts ringing. I answer, and there's a girl on line looking for Michelle. No Michelle in my house. So I got to thinking, that I must have an activate XML file if I can receive calls, although the status of the phones in basic settings says the unit isn't provisioned ( don't understand that if I am receiving calls)
So, next question, is there a way to get access to the XML to the Admin login name and password, so I can get rid of this other person's number and allow me to upgrade the firmaware. I tried the Cyt Utility to change the passwords but it hangs in the process and fails to complete the change. I suspect that the firmware of 5.01.04 is the problem there.
Is there anyway to somehow get the XML data info and resolve my issues.
Any advice again would be most welcome. (again!)

You should have internet access with the way its set up.
How is your computers tcp settings configured?

1 edit | Re: [Equipment] Can not login at 192.168.15.100 Also- you can go to admin settings of the RPT300 and enable Remote Administration. Then put it back behind the wireless router. Then access it using the format 192.168.1.xxx:8080
Its possible you will have to configure your wireless router then to allow the voice section of the RPT300 to work properly.

| I did restarts but no access
I would have thought I should too, but it appears for some reason as if there are two separate lands, even though the subnet mask is 225.225.225.0 on all routers and computers. The MTU on routers and computer NIC is 1400 as per ISP instructions. Tested fragment packets as per dslreports and 1400 is my magic number.
It seems to me, the if I had complete access to the router instead of limited it would solves most of the issues.
Oh well I wait on baited breath for a response from Vonage and see if it is willing to remedy the situation.

| OK first of all let separate your issues. You dont need any special straighthrough cables for anything you are doing since you are working with routers. Normal ethernet cables will be fine. your setup should look like this:
Internet ---> RTP300 ----> Wireless Router.
If you can't get wireless access but you can get wired, there is something in your setup thats wrong like a cable is not plugged in somewhere(or you are using a straighthrough cable where you shouldnt be), its not a limitation of any of the equipment.
As for the XML, thats gonna be encrypted so as far as I know you cant touch that. If there is still some active profile on there you may want to contact vonage so they can help rectify the situation for you. This way you wont get any calls for michelle.

| Re: [Equipment] Can not login at 192.168.15.100 Thanks for the quick reply....
If I have this setup
Internet ---> RTP300 ----> Wireless Router. ( The wireless desktop doesn't get access to the internet, seems it would have to be wired connected to the RTP300 to gain access to the internet. RTP is pingable at 192.168.15.1 and I can login as admin, admin. Just can't browse the internet. RPT get automatically an IP from NETprovider and acts as a DCHP serving ip address to the Wireless router will is set up similarly.
If
I do this Internet ----> Wireless Router ---> RTP300 .
I have internet service at the desktop but can't get the RTP300 on 192.168.15.1 only at 192.168.100.1 Now when I browse the latter address I get the login-password input text boxes, BUT when I enter admin, admin, it says bad username. So I can't configure the RTP in this setup as I have no access.
I can configure the RTP in the other scenario but don't have internet access.
Damn if I do and damn if don't --- a really pain swapping the routers to do maintenance or config changes.
I have taken you advice and contacted Vonage, let's see what they say.
