let's start having the dsl numbers posted in direct please
Will need the following
1.) Address causing the problems, if multiples please list them 2.) DSL TN 3.) Mail client you are using 4.) copy of the error if you can get it. 5.)alternate contact number 6.) Include if the problem is happening with the web-based e-mail client as well.
For a topic header I had one created for the direct forum called [EMAIL-080107]
Start posting just that stuff there guys, and let's start tracking it down.
Thanks david -- If you have a topic in the direct forum please reply to it or a post of mine, I get a notification when you do this. Koetting Ford, Granite City, illinois... YOU'RE FIRED!!

»Mail Authentication Issue AGAIN
we were able to use telnet on port 110, with no secure connection. I have attempted to use (Debian) "telnet-ssl" on port 995, with no success. I'm sure I'm missing something. Could someone please post a successful transcript? (Remember to obscure id and password.)
Of course private data belongs on direct, but please let's keep a public thread going on this - more eyes has a couple advantages.
I'll post to direct when I can produce a sensible telnet-ssl session.
Thanks. |

Actually, there are multiple threads across all of the AT&T regions; this appears to be system wide. Perhaps one of the forum mods needs to consolidate them, and post a "sticky" on the problem. -- Norman ~Oh Lord, why have you come ~To Konnyu, with the Lion and the Drum |

| reply to David I posted in Direct, as did others.
Thanks David.
That said, this is now the third or fourth time this has occurred. Is there any way the higher-ups can be told to start taking this as seriously as you do? Email is the main activity on the Internet for most of us, and if ATT or Yahoo (the distinction is meaningless to me; I pay my bill to ATT so they are the ones who have to deal with it)or whomever can't fix it, I know that I will eventually have to take my business, and that of my clients elsewhere.
The first time this happened in a chronic fashion was last November - one would think that after eight months they would have a handle on it - if they give a damn.
What you do is vastly appreciated by myself and (I know) many others. But your bosses need to do more to get this right and keep it right. -- Illegitimati non carborundum

Speaking just for myself »Re: AT&T Email Continuing Download Problems but email worked much better since Friday with no errors in 48 hours now and (almost) full speed. As I said in the quoted post I don't fully trust weekend statistics, but in case that's relevant to you and your team please let us know. Thanks. |
