Re: [Vista] Urgent Warning about WGA!

Hmmm... for fun I just downloaded a file that requires validation and there's no problem at all (Vista Ultimate). Maybe they fixed it.

I just used my Vista business laptop at a local wifi hotspot and, when I checked for any updates, I received a message to download and install the latest updater software. This I did and was surprised that it took so long to install (not download...not a speed issue). It 'seems' to be running fine after a restart when I went back to the Windows site.
Perhaps this is related to this post?

I had the same thought ..

I don't have Auto update enabled on any of my systems but I do usually run a weekly manual update scan and also got the update for the updater on my one Vista system and my other XP systems yesterday... the XPs gave the install activex prompts while the Vista did not ... all installs did seem to take awhile even with my 8 mb download connection but all went through smoothly and after the updater installed all scans were up to date.

I've personally never run into any WGA problems with Vista, XP, Office 2007, & Office 2003 installed on the various systems.
