Dead Vtech 8100 - Any Options?

I purchased a Vtech/Vonage IP 8100 with 4 handsets about 9 months ago and last night it died on me. No dial tone, no lights on the front, handsets say "searching" for a base, lights on the RJ45 jacks are blank when connected but oddly the button you push to locate handsets still works (the handsets chirp normally). Yes, I pushed the reset button numerous times, unplugged it numerous times, etc.

I opened it up to look for a fuse but there are none to be seen. Is it a brick or do I have any options? I tried to call Vonage help line but after 15 minutes or so on hold I hung up. Any help would be appreciated.

Try calling vonage again. Itd be better if you call during weekends (or tomorrow) to avoid the waiting. Have the call transferred to tech, when they verified that something is wrong they will issue you a free device (provided that the one you have is from vonage). Alternatively, you can buy a new one from a retail store. (Best buy, staples, microcenter, radioshack, office depot, walmart...most of them have mail-in rebates)

Amft. Never mind my first post. Mail-in rebates are for new sign-ups. But you can get $40 of credits for your Vonage account when you buy a new device from a retail store.

You are inside the one year warranty if you purchased the equipment from Vonage. They should replace at least the defective base unit/adapter.
