"Music sold at Sony CONNECT may be downloaded on up to 5 PC's that are authorized at any given time. All music purchased may be re-downloaded at any given time."

So what does this mean to those who thought they had a easy way to recovery from a disaster? And how does this affect the DRM properties (proprietary formats and all of course) associated with this defunct endeavor?

I hope those who are thinking of the video downloads think about what happened to the Connect music store.
Uh dude, CONNECT is DEAD. Sony is phasing it out and it will be only a memory come March 08. Sony is pretty much ditching Connect, Sonicstage, and ATRAC (sony's DRM format) in favor of other formats and WMP11. I for one am upset by this (I love the ATRAC format) but I can see why many others would be happy over it.

Yes son, we realize that Connect is dying. That was part of the gist of the posting. The rest of the posting was wondering how those who were sucked in are going to cope with the demise.
