Haven't used AOL since, oh, maybe 1997 or so, so I can't say if it's an AOL problem or a problem on the OP's end. However, a lot of people still seem to use it with no issues, so....

Even I had great connection speeds with AOL. You need to make sure that you do not have all the worlds junk stored up on your computer that makes your computer slow.
