Restrictions/DRM vs Clean File?

What would most people rather have?

A legal but restricted & DRMed file?

OR

A downloaded clean file that they could use without possible system damage by DRM/restriction schemes?

Hmmm...

I dont know about you guys but i prefer to watch my TV shows on TV if i have to DL them. I cant stand watching movies/TV shows on my computer. Are the legit content providers still stuck on only allowing their content to be viewed on computers? are they allowing you to burn them to a CD/DVD and watch elsewhere?

This is a problem with legal files. You purchase it and still, you're not free to view it as you like.

I like to view the episodes using my divx dvd player on TV. I don't want to pay $3.99 per episode and then be restricted on my usage.
I'd rather buy the whole season on DVD.

Well, even though this is my TV(this one or the A Series on the desk), the BS "player" they want you to use for the El Crapo legal downloads is... unpleasant.

File will not play in other player software either(odd codec?)... so I hit the DDL sites.

And some Torrents set you up nowdays with some very good rips of the said shows. ive had a few that look great even when run at my Laptop's max resolution of 1920x1200. now all we need is for MS to give native Divx, Xvid and that H with numbers format support to the 360 and its media program so one doesnt have to transcode in Tversity.

BINGO!
With piracy its good kbps encoded and anything that plays standard video formats will play it. not this proprietary player because of DRM low kbps encoded crap.
oh yeah, piracy peeps REMOVE the ADVERTISEMENTS before uploading. id much rather blow 700MB on 39 minutes of content at better encode rate than 60 minutes of low encode rate with ads that i can't skip over.
I'd LOVE to pay for content if only they did it as well as the pirate do it.
