| [Sci-Fi] Torchwood.. anyone watching?
I have been seeing BBC Americ ads for this show so I tuened in.
Before Torchwood they had a Doctor Who from 2006. The werewolf show. Queen Victoria was standing outside a mansion that had Torchwood on it, which I think was the start of it.
Then Torchwood ep.1 was reaired. Was Harkness the guy that went with Doc who from the '40's to modern times? -- Say no to the IRS.. Yes to the Fair Tax! This beer is for: 464th bat. 98th div. Combat engineers. Hillside Ave schenectady NY. |

1 edit | Queen Victory started Torchwood and named it after the Mansion.
Yes, Harkness helped the Doctor fight the Daleks and was killed, but Rose brought him back to life using the matrix from the TARDIS. Thats why he can not be killed.
The hand in the liquid that was seen when Gwen first walked in Torchwood is the Doctors. |

| reply to Snakeoil I saw it last year via torrents of the original BBC series. Very engaging characters and story lines. A very adult sci-fi drama. --

Maybe even have a "So you wanna be a wrestler" type show. |

| reply to Barmat I've been watching it on BBC America ever since it premiered. Very impressed, like the storylines, need to turn on the closed captioning to get past some of the British accents though!
Like the subtle ties back to Dr. Who, as well as the last Dr. Who episode that was broadcast on Sci-Fi featuring Jack Harkness...nice cross-over between the two shows I think! |

| reply to Snakeoil I'm watching it every week and even though some parts are kind of lame (chase scenes inside the little underground HQs come on) and how Gwen is such a cry-baby at times now when initially her character showed to be tough, fast thinking on her feet, but she now looks like a deer caught in the headlights and has to be constantly pulled out of the path of danger by teammates whose brains have not frozen up/locked up like hers now does at every new turn it seems. She seems a bit whinier [sp?] too or is it just me?
They need an injection of better alien hardware than they are writing about too.

| I agree. There are times when this show is very good, and times when its very very bad. All in the same show.
But then again I hate to say this: How many times have you watched a show where they have a gal that is not afraid to pick up a gun and kill someone. But then the next moment, is totaly clueless as to how to escape danger?
Its like they want a Ripley, But they want a damsel in distress too. -- Say no to the IRS.. Yes to the Fair Tax! This beer is for: 464th bat. 98th div. Combat engineers. Hillside Ave schenectady NY. |

| said by Snakeoil : Its like they want a Ripley, But they want a damsel in distress too. Probably has to do with how everybody likes an 'Emma Peel' who can stand up and kick arse... but then, it's also nice to see the feminine side show when they get scared. |
