| [southwest] Fios Internet price increase
I just received a wonderful notice stating that my Verizon fios internet service is increasing from 39.95 to 52.99. I can maybe accept a few dollars increase but what amounts to about a 31% increase is ridiculous! Flower Mound Texas 75022
Current Plan: Verizon fios Internet Service- Up to 5Mbps/2Mbps

@verizon.net | I'm sure it is somewhat timed with your monthly bill. My billing is up to Sept.15 and I received the notice on 9/15 |

Call the number on the letter. |

@verizon.net | Overall,no problems with Voicewing. Their website is not the greatest and I did have a glitch with the registering of my address for e911 purposes. |

| UPDATE Apparently I have had fios internet for 1 year now and with the free install I had a one year agreement. If I went monthly THEN the price would be 52.99 so I still have my old price plus 4 cents 39.99. To get a triple play ,it sounds like i would have to drop Voicewing and go back to the land line. |

@verizon.net | I've been thinking about the triple play. One question , will the fios cable hook up with the existing/original phone lines?Would it be similar to the Voicewing set up with an adapter? |

| reply to guppy_fish said by guppy_fish :So if triple play with unlimted fios/POTS is less than unbundled with Voicewing, why not make the change? Because POTS costs a lot more than VoiceWing if you add in all of the features of VoiceWing, if they are even available with POTS. |

Because POTS costs a lot more than VoiceWing if you add in all of the features of VoiceWing, if they are even available with POTS. Is this an opinion or fact? ... I just dumped ViaTalk for crappy service and Verizon has unlimted US/Canada, Caller ID, Call waiting and Voicemail for 29 bucks + taxes .. this is unbundled price. Anyone who has been away for a year or two might be pretty surprised that the cost difference is much smaller. As the question was to the original poster is still valid, is fios/POTS cheaper than Voicewing when bundled and along the same line, what is the feature set of the bundled fios/Pots on the triple play? |

| reply to tjpc fios phone is not VoIP...it's POTS. The copper phone lines in your house connect to the ONT, which provides dial tone, just like a copper connection. So, yes, it "hooks up" with your existing phone lines, and does not require a VoIP adapter. -- Have I mentioned I'm connected on fios? |

@verizon.net | reply to kes601 This is verizons way to recoupe the cost from those that have left them for the voip and lawsuit that is pending with vonage |
