Ok, I finally got mine working.

For some reason, Google doesn't like WPA2-PSK AES.
I changed my router security settings to WPA2 PSK TKIP+AES.
And my laptop adapter to WPA/WPA2 TKIP, and now it works. I would like to use AES, but if it will cause problems, then I don't have any choice but to use TKIP.

Found another one with the same problem:

Looks like it's happening to MACs as well, using a Belkin router:

»discussions.apple.com/thread.jsp···tstart=0

It's possible that this is a google thing, and not linkys related.

By the way, I set it up with WPA2 as well. I'm not sure if that matters.

Anyone with the same problem?

I thought it's just me and my unconventional setup.

I have a WRT54GS as my router, but I'm using a WRT54GX as my access point.

Using laptops connected using wireless, I noticed I can't access google, and sites with google ads load slowly.
But when wired, it access google just fine.

I thought the reason behind this is because I updated the GX's firmware.

Sometimes google will load, but most of the time it won't.
Same thing happens on an Vista laptop and an XP laptop.

I just use yahoo to do my search. But sites loading too slow (if at all) with google ads is annoying.

What type of computers do you have? If you have a Mac or a linux machine you don't need the software, so All you have to do is spoof the Mac address of your Mac or linux onto the router and you log into a webpage to authenticate that "computer". lol

Let me brief my set up quickly. I'm in a dorm, dorm requires clean access and no wifi. (no wifi because it assigning IP address would mess up their systems)

So I have a Desktop computer logged into clean access agent (CAA) then forwarding internet through a 2nd card to a Linksys WRT54GX2 sending out a typical SSID Blocked WPA2 encrypted connection, so all my other computers (laptops) don't have to have this piece of cancer known as CAA.

Strange thing is my laptops, when connected via the wifi can't see any google domain, if i add another computer onto the network neither can they. But the desktop can, and if i wire into the router via cable i can see Google on the laptop. So i can only not see Google, past the router when using wifi.

so I'm stumped. please any ideas, I couldn't find any previous posts about this issue... anywhere on the internet so if i missed something please let me know.

P.S. the router is a refurbish, so if u think that could somehow be it let me know
