damaged Kodak C653, advice, please?

camera body damage
Hi, long time lurker, very occasional poster...

My ex-wife called crying because she dropped and damaged the Kodak C653 that she had purchased about 1 month ago.

Had her stick it in her scanner to try and give a visual assessment of the damage. She says: "It still works. The tape doesn't hold real good and I have to try to keep it together while taking a picture". I believe the case damage is in the area where the batteries go in.

Obviously, the damage wouldn't be covered by the warranty. I believe she paid around $120 for the camera.

Any suggestions as to where to send it for repair, or do you think that it just isn't cost effective to fix it?

Thanks in advance for sharing your thoughts.

I would say it isn't cost effective to fix it. Sorry.

You could buy this one for parts only. I don't know how difficult it would be to transfer the guts of her camera to the case of this one, though.

Was it purchased with a credit card? Possibly covered under a buyer protection policy?
