Only on price

quote:
Barron's notes that investors seem to think satellite & telcoTV are going to win the war, though one noteable Wall Street analyst says investors have been seriously over-estimating the telcoTV impact on the cable industry's bottom line.
The only place where Telco is going to impact Comcast is on price. Comcast has traditionally been too expensive, IMO.
While some argue that their cost/mbps is cheap... their overall packages are expensive.

On a 'good' news portion

Moffett also notes that Comcast's broadband service continues to rapidly gain ground at the expenses of the Bell's: cable's share of residential broadband net subscriber additions is up to 54%, from 49% a year ago.

but the bad news......
most markets are saturated, people who want it have it. Comcast has expanded their Voip and will continue to do so, but their arrogance with pricing is a big turn off. They need something to compete for the future. It's a gamble that may or may not pay off, but it won't make any investors happy!

disclaimer: I have comcast, and I hate it. Speeds are great when they work, but I lost alot of time making comcast do what I was actually paying for!
