Re: ISDN questions

Well, I just found out today that Verizon doesn't offer ISDN service to New York state. Anyone else know any other options I have to get an ISDN phone line so I can at least try getting Internet service with it?

Do a search for IDSL providers in your area.

Have you spoken with the business sales side of Verizon? I find it hard to believe that they don't offer ISDN. I would not find it hard to believe that the consumer sales side knows nothing about it, however.

·Verizon Wireless B..

I also spoke to their business sales side. They had no regular connection and they asked if getting a T1 connection would be possible. But that is too costly of an option for me to consider.

@splitpair: I've already looked into DSL as an option. There are no providers that have coverage out in my area. Right now, I'm trying to see if getting a wireless connection would be an option for me.

Not DSL IDSL which is based on ISDN technology as such it can be provisioned out of a remote terminal by installing a BRI channel unit. A number of CLEC's offer it maybe one in your area does as well. The speed is only 144 but it is a nailed up connection (always on).

So it's possible to run IDSL on a regular phoneline instead of having to purchase a special phone line with a phone provider?
