If you had the new 5LNB dish, it would allow you to see the new HD channels.
More technically: the D10 satellite is using Ka 'lo' band frequencies. The other Ka satellites use Ka 'hi' band frequencies. D* receivers recognize the signals at the latter (higher freq's). The "B-Band Converter" shifts the Ka 'lo' signal up into a higher range that the receivers understand.
Even with the 5LNB dish, if you don't have (functional) BBCs, you won't receive the new HD.

said by Dominokat :Whats different from the H10 to the H20? I thought the only difference was a DVR? The HR2x/H2x understand MPEG 4 (as well as MPEG 2) The HR1x/H1x do not - they're MPEG 2 only.
All the new HD and even locals for almost a year in some areas, have been in MPEG 4. |
