[POLL] CD Creation Software - 2008 Member Choice

As defined by wikipedia.org

Optical disc authoring software is computer software for authoring optical discs including CD-ROMs and DVDs. They are also known by synonyms such as CD burning application or DVD authoring software. Such software is required to use a optical disc recorder.

Creating an optical disc usually involves first creating a disk image with a full file system designed for the optical disc, and then actually burning the image to the disc. Disk file systems include ISO-9660 (often known simply as "ISO") and Universal Disk Format (UDF). ISO is most common for CDs and UDF is most common for DVDs.

This poll is multiple choice; if you use multiple programs to burn discs feel free to select them

A lot of hard work went into this so please take the time and vote

I've been using Nero for many years. I know there are Nero haters out there, and sure, it is bloated. But it does what I need it to do, and it does it dependably.
I also use Imgburn.

I always used Nero in the past but got really tired of what has become a bloated package. So now I use the nice and simple Ashampoo Burning Studio 7.0. It does just about everything I need.

In Windows I use Nero and Imgburn, but I use K3b most of all, since I'm in Linux nearly all the time. It's an excellent free program.

Thanks for the poll, gate1975mim .

Primarily Ashampoo Burning Studio 7, but I just picked up Nero 8 at a discount, so I'll be giving that a try too.

Edit: Forgot about WinAmp!

Nice poll, thanks.

I'm currently using Nero Express 7 that came with my LG burner. No problems and I like the Nero Burn Rights feature.

Excellent poll gate!

Have used many over the years, but at the moment the following get used the most I suppose:

Ashampoo
Nero
Imgburn
NTI CD & DVD-Maker

And Windows "buit in" CD Burning works just fine for certain tasks as well.

For Windows, Nero 6.6.0.18 (cruft removed - main application only), Alcohol 120% 1.9.2 (last version before mandatory activation). Linux, K3b.

If it's not broken, don't screw with it.

Thanks for the poll and all your hard work!

I voted Ashampoo. I used to use Nero, but since getting Ashampoo for free and giving it a try, I found out it worked just as well for my use.
