| reply to mbkowns Re: 16mb / 2mb Status Update
Sorry to beat a dead horse, but I just got off another chat with a charter agent. Here's the log this time:
quote: Matthew: Thank you Nikki! I appreciate the help!
Nikki: As of right now. on your account, it does not give us any option yet to upgrade you to 16Megs. You may try contacting us again during the first week of November.
Matthew: I wonder if you have any information about the 16mg internet speed tier coming to my area? I'm a current 10mb HSI Customer, *personal information removed* I'd like to upgrade as soon as it's available.
[Nikki - A representative has joined the session.]
I am cautiously optimistic that we might see 16mb sooner rather than later! |

1 edit | last time i called i was told my area is usually first when upgrades are implemented. So if it is the first month of Nov i guess we will find out, and if not I'm sure it will be soon considering that when 10meg hit it was a few weeks at most if not a week.
EDIT: Just called to check seems Nov 3rd on the West coast and the end of January beginning of Feb. for East Coast. |

1 edit | Okay first let me just state, that YES, I do have too much time on my hands. We'll get that out of the way right there.
WHen I saw that Joker called in, I decided to play monkey see, monkey do, so I called in for myself.
Spoke with a very friendly CSR named bruce, who spent literally 12 minutes (I checked my call timer) researching it for me. He came back on the line and said that he found something in the computer saying November 2nd, and that just to be sure, he got up and asked a couple supervisors to confirm it, and that it is indeed November 2nd for Socal.
So whether or not it's the 2nd or the 3rd, almost EVERYTHING i am hearing from charter is indicating that it's the first week of November. Confirmed by 2 online chat agents and a phone agent, by me, and supported by fellow users who have also called in.
We'll find out for sure on friday, but I think that's the day! |

1 edit | If i was in cali i would call on the first then 2nd, then 3rd.... until its avaiable. Now be sure to list the price on all levels meaning, if you have just internet, if you get phone and internet, cable/internet, and triple play, big cable package or just expanded, i want to know prices and so do alot of others.
i'm currently paying for 10/1, biggest cable package (no HD) at $150 give or take a few dollars |

| reply to matt314159 Very interesting ,Charter has provided Cable TV but not Internet service in my area.About three weeks ago the local paper ran an ad for Charter that cable Internet would be offered soon ,but no date listed for deployment.I have not seen any updates or ETA for deployment of new service, they sure like to be sneaky about things don't they. |
