I'm interested in securing my laptop since i spend 2 nights a week at hotels. Would be interested in what people think about this guys talk through. Even if this works....can't the hotel's/ Hot Spot's provider view your email etc?
Thanks!

Yep...they can, as well as anyone who sniffs the wireless.

I always go through a VPN when at a hotel.

Here is a recent thread that deals with wireless security at a hotel/public hotspot.

»Secure Net Access in Hotel Room

As noted by dervari many folks, including myself, use a VPN or Secure Shell (SSH) to securely access the internet, do email, etc...etc...
