| Crackberry+Iphone=iCrack
I have a corporate crackberry which I avoid using as much as possible and recently a coworker of mine let me have his 8gig iphone for 200 dollars just because he wasn't using it, I unlocked the iphone and started to use my crackberry's sim card... Now is when I'm really using the my corporate mobile number.
Does this mean that I can abuse the hell out the iphone's data services and not have my boss come out and bitch at me?
Does cingular know that all of a sudden my crackberry turned into an iphone? |

Now, if your boss is paying per byte and you end up pulling more data using iPhone than you did with BlackBerry, you'll run a higher bill and your boss will come out bitching at you.

My guess is that from their side they cannot really track what device your SIM card is tied to, they can only link your SIM card to the voice minutes used with it as well as amount of data pulled, then cross-check it against your account and bill you accordingly. I think that's why they made Apple come up with this activation process that allows iPhones to be activated only with a particular series of SIM cards, and not with any others (even if they are tied to AT&T accounts).

1 edit | Yes they know what device your Sim card is in. The unique to each device IMEI gets sent back to the carrier. |
