I suspect you too are rushing to judgement in declaring it sabotage.

You might be right. Then again, somebody might have arranged for some email marketing without realizing that they were dealing with a spammer. It happens.

It will probably have negligible effects on the Ron Paul campaign.

And no, I'm not a member of the Ron Paul fan club.
