Charter everyone knows?

I think it's well known with customers, espicially users on this forum that Charter is the bottom of the bin. Worcester, MA would love to boot them out. But we can't. 16meg will get here. In about 2 years. All this huff and puff is good for areas that NOW have FIOS competition. Oh and they are deploying this West Coast first than making it's way to East. New speeds from Charter? Same old crap, "uhh sorry sir you town can't handle that speed now. Please check back in 2 years or wait for your bill to introduce it." Hey guess what we have 10meg here and my bill is advertising 5 meg. so no thanks.

Let me see if i understand this

So, Per the topic it states that 5 meg users will be upgraded to 10 meg and there will be a 16 meg service added.
When i spoke to charter they didnt seem very interested in upgrading me from 5 to 10 without costing alot more money.
20 dollars a month more.
When exactly is charter supposed to upgrade 5 meg users to 10 and 3 to 5? Have they done this already?
Just dont know that they plan on upgrading anyones service without charging them alot more than they should.

What Karl fails to mention like always is prices are involved. 3-5meg free. 5-10meg cost more. 10-16 cost more.

BUT the good thing with all of the tiers is now bundles are cheaper than standalone items, its "suppose" to be cheaper to bundle now all the time than just getting one item out right. I'm sure its going to depend on area though.

I love my 10meg service now, as anyone who has seen my screenshots of pulling 16meg downloads off newsgroups can attest to. :P

Why is my service so abysmal?! I'd love to rave about Charter, but their pathetic performance and frequent outages are really getting on my nerves. Six months of absolutely horrendous service, complaints, etc. Sure, there are times (like an hour ago) when I'll get the full 10Mbps speed for 30 minutes, but the it'll drop to either nothing (my first attempt to reply bombed out and I lost all connectivity) or down to a consistent 512Kbps - 1Mbps.

I'm sure you would agree that you would likewise be as aggravated if you paid $80/mo for something worth $10.

Re: Charter everyone knows?

I have to use 2 cable modems to get 20meg. Retarted Charter just can't put one 20 meg conifg on my modem. Guess what??? I have been running 2 cable modems for over 5months. Please don't tell me the line won't handle it or that I am disrupting neighbors bandwidth. It works and it works fine. I had to buy a dual wan router because Charter doesn't understand that some of thier users actually want good speed and guess what??? they will pay for it happily. But no Charter does meatball upgrades they will upgrade their systems to just be able to give the 16meg. Instead of upgrading for the future and actually doing a speed increase worth a crap. But unfortunately this is how Charter operates. From the very high right to the bottom contractors. They are lackeys.

You're not getting 20Mbps bonded. You're getting two 10meg connections. I have the Linksys RV082 and it provides for two WAN connections, but they're not bonded. The fastest you're going to ever get is 10Mbps.

jjeofry I have multiple screenshots of me getting 20+ meg off of usenet and regular downloads. Torrents even saturate my 2 meg upload. I am not a newbie at this. I have been doing this since 1.5 was the top tier. It is easy and it works fine. Thanks though for letting me know what you think about how it works.
