Re: Sympatico throttling Bit Torrents now???

About 5 hours after signing up with TSI I am now logged into my new account and downloading at proper, uncapped speeds.

Hopefully enough to make them reconsider their current behavior. The lack of respect they have for their customers is just appalling.

Easy, unrestricted access to P2P and high speed internet in general has really become a part of our culture, especially among the young. Personally, I cannot imagine a world without it, which is why I was so flabbergasted by the throttling today and so quick to switch providers.

If these ISPs really intend to follow through with this battle they've started to wage (some more recently than others, but it seems to be coming to a head as of late across North America in particular), the next few months and years are going to prove very interesting for the net industry.

Cheers to that! I had the pleasure of logging onto bell and watching my torrents be throttled at 30kb/s (this was at 1:30 in the afternoon, hardly peak hours...), I'd then logg off Belll and on to tecksavvy and watch my torrent speeds go to 500kb/s. I did this a few times just to make sure.

Screw Bell, 30kb/s is slower then dial up speeds, and I was so pissed when "customer service supervisor" told me that they offer speeds "up to" 5mb, not guaranteed speed, and my 30kb/s was just fine.

I signed up for unlimited HIGH-SPEED, not unlimited Dial up! And they have th nerve to tell me that even though they broke my contract, I still have to live up to my end of the contract and pay the 100.00 cancelation feel... nice try Bell.

Way to treat a (now former) 13 year loyal customer Bell... it's absolute garbage..
