How can you have DSL with out a phone line? This is what is absolutely silly about Naked DSL. As long as one has current on the copper wires between the central office to home one has phone service. |

Uh, have you been hiding in a cave for the past three seven years?!?
Current in a copper pair indicates a working circuit port at the telco, not phone service. DSL signaling takes place on a totally separate frequency spectrum from traditional analog phone service, hence the ability of offering line share-based DSL service.
Verizon in NYC does it lazy-style by simply disabling the voice service features instead of provisioning a true data port to the CO. |
