[HSI] Slow speeds in upstate SC

My download is normally around 4.6mb/s on a good day but currently it's around 960kb/s. My upload is fine. Anyone else seeing this?

Last Result:
Download Speed: 960 kbps (120 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 452 kbps (56.5 KB/sec transfer rate)

Still seeing slow download speed =\. Also, my download froze a lot while I did the speedtest.

Same here...almost the exact same speeds as you..I've got the 10 meg package

I had the same problems last night in Greenville... I power cycled the modem and my DL rate went from 968 up to 4171 kb's. Sometimes the lame power cycle does infact work lol Good Luck...

Still getting the same speeds around 1pm.

Last Result:
Download Speed: 958 kbps (119.8 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 482 kbps (60.3 KB/sec transfer rate)

I'm going to try to powercycle my modem.

Edit: Powercycling fixed it. Thanks =).

Hey folks , I have Charter BroadBand & Been Having Major Problems with them for Over 3 months , i have the 10Meg Service as well.i think they are selling out Our Connections at Times Sharing Our Connection Packets with Others. and it slow our Speed Down bigtime, this is so Unfair. i even have called them, and they always tell me have my Pc checked.something needs to be Done.$85.00 a month is too Much to pay , if your not getting all your service you are paying for. then when i call them and get Mad.no Sooner i get off the Phone Boom, my Service is back to Normal for about 3 Days , then slows down Again .

Wish I had something useful to add, but I've been experiencing the exact same things lately here in Spartanburg, SC. All day long (from about 9AM to 3AM) I get crippled download speeds, usually below 100KB/sec. Then for a few hours from around 4AM to 9AM my speeds might spike back to the normal near-5MB/sec (which is what I'm paying for). Calls placed to customer service have been met with polite ignorance. Meaning, whoever I was talking to clearly wanted to help, but had no idea what the problem was. There also never appears to be any record of my previous calls, but having worked in customer service before, I can understand how that can happen. Power cycling hasn't done anything for me. I can't even connect to speedtest.net at the moment to get a current measure.

I am getting horrible speeds on my residential line, I logged into the office to see what we are getting on fiber and it's about 50% of what it should be which is better than residential but still horrible.

I am calling business support.

I logged a ticket with Business Support.

I was able to show the same issue on multiple routes so I would assume that it should be cleared up shortly.

I'm also having problems, I didn't notice the problems until last night. My problems are mainly ping related, my download and upload speeds are down a tad but not much.

Looks like the problem is on the 4th hop. Now when I ping google.com for example it tells me:

Since this has been going on for about 3 weeks now at the same times in the evening, it looks like a router is about to croak or is plain overloaded Which ain't cheap to fix

maybe you tried already but unplug power cable for a min then replug it in. i had this problem the other day
