Hello and sorry for my delay, The 2001 Honda Accord is in perfect working condition. This detailed vehicle makes the exterior look like it just came off the assembly line. The car has only 76767 miles.VIN Number: 1HGCG16551A043313 It was never involved in any accident, not even minor ones. The body and paint are great. The interior is super clean, mechanically, it runs like a cat on carpet. PICS: »s250.photobucket.com/albums/gg26···haccord/ So if you decide on buying the car, I want the deal closed only through eBay. You will make the payment to eBay and they will hold the money until you receive the car. ONLY AFTER you receive the car and you inspect it, eBay will release the payment to me, in this way we are both protected. I signed up for US military forces and I was sent here with my department to improve the military relations between our country and UK. I am located in London, United Kingdom.1 months ago, my wife moved here, with me and brought the car with her, but now we have to sell it back in the United States, because we can't drive it here because we can't register it here; it has US specs and everything, and registering it here in Europe will take for ever. My final price on it is US 2,900 $. If you will take it for this price, I am willing to handle the shipping .It will be shipped from here by plane with US Air Military Cargo so it will not cost me anything. You will get it to the nearest airport in your area and then it will be trucked forward to your place. Please get back to me asap if you decide to buy, and include in your e-mail your full name and address where you want it shipped so I can start the deal with eBay. You will receive all the transaction payment and shipping details from them. Regards, Sgt Robert Mclean

Regards,
Sgt Robert Mclean Oh nice !!! now they are law enforcement for that extra touch of validity.
We see these on here all the time, I will look for some thread links to add.
Usually if you search on the VIN number you can find both the original sale add where they hijacked it from, »www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=1H···e+Search or see dozens of entires for the same car all over the US. »www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=1H···e+Search
You did not day where the add was, many are on Craigslist. However, since this type of scam is now an epidemic, they are invading lots of online sites and also regional for sale sites. The scam is also not limited to autos, it includes motorcycles, ATVs, jet skis, motor homes, trailers, and even farm equipment.

MDG is well respected on this forum and you can bet every thing he said is True -- When a man talks dirty to a woman, it's sexual harassment. When a woman talks dirty to a man, it's $3.95 a minute

Hello and sorry for my delay, The [insert car here] is in perfect working condition..... as soon as it starts off like this you should stop reading. the scam ads is basically a carbon copy template that is used by them all. usual stories are being divorced, in the military, etc, and they are usually located overseas. and yes, MGD is like the Grand Puba around here, at least to me anyway I think of him as the High Potentate of scam busting myself!

| Yes it is a scam. I found 2 similar used car listing that are almost identical. " Hi there and sorry for the late reply.
The car is still available for sale. This is a 2000 Toyota Camry LE, 2.2L 4-Cyl Automatic, ONLY 15K Miles, VIN# 4T1BG28K5YU617089.
It is in EXCELLENT condition; the body and paint are great, no scratches and no dents; the interior is clean; it has never been involved in an accident.
Here you can find more pictures with the car: »picasaweb.google.com/robmeyer66/car (if the above link does not work copy and paste it into a new web browser window)
I'm an US Air Force Lieutenant currently stationed in UK. And the car is here with me. It was bought in the US and shipped to Europe, but it was never permanently registered here, the car is still registered in the US.
The car is for sale locally as well, but there are slim chances of this to happen. First of all this is a US model car, with the steering wheel on the left side, as opposed to a UK model, that has the steering wheel on the right side. And second, in order to be able to register this car here in UK the buyer would have to pay very high import/custom taxes that will double the price. So I decided to sell the car back in the US.
As I'm unable to travel in the near future and I don't have anyone back home to help me with the sale I decided to make this transaction through eBay.
So how this actually works? Simple: the buyer sends the payment to eBay and they hold the money until the car is delivered; I ship the car to US; I get my money only after the buyer receives the car and makes sure everything is as agreed. I believe this protects both buyer and seller and it's the right way to do this.
The final price is $2,900 including shipping from Europe to the US and delivery to your home address.
So if you decide to buy this car or need further information please get back to me as soon as possible.
Thank you and have a great day, Lt. Robert Meyer rob.meyer@msn.com " Hello.... My name is Sgt. I think you've already received the right advice about this being a scam, but if you needed any more evidence, here it is. The US military does not ship POV's by aircraft. -- Son, there's only one thing you need to know: HEMI

| The e-mail is almost word-for-word of one I got on a Kubota tractor and another on a BMW E36. They re out of the coutnry, the brother died, and they will ship the car by Lufthansa air freight or something to an airport near you.
1. eBay does not "hold the money" until you are satisfied with the car. Once you pay them, that is it. And I suspect they will ask you to pay by Western Union.
2. The military does ship cars overseas for servicemen (why does this guy talk in pidgon english if he's American, anyway?). But thet SHIP them, by SHIP, not by air. Total LIE.
3. American servicemen can drive their cars overseas without registering them there. Again total LIE. Why would a serviceman have a car shipped overseas if he could not register it?
The pattern is the same: a coveted item (BMW, Kobota Tractor, Honda motorcycle, etc.) worth $10,000 to $20,000 is offered for a pitiful amount - $2500 to $5000 with a long-winded "backstory" behind it. You wire them the money, thinking you scored big and that's the last you hear of them.
They hijack eBay identifications by using those phishing scams. Typically if you look at their feedback, you'll see it is some little old lady in Arkansas selling dolls. Suddenly, the person is a Seargent in the Army in England selling a car. What gives?
If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is....
Good Luck! | |
