said by howie :said by NYR11 :Also the original Vista DVD's come in one of those double wide "Game DVD" cases. I think when you print out the Vista cover and place it in a "single" slim DVD case it doesn't line up as well. Like mine No, that's not it. The ones that were available for download were for use in the regular single (not slim or double) DVD cases. Yep when you want a slim dvd cover you need to custom resize the cover yourself or have it done for you. I don't really like slim dvd cases but I see how they have a point in saving a lot of space. |

I printed the DVD cover (PNG Image) on 8.5 X 11 glossy photo paper, trimmed the white border off and it fit the DVD case just right (spine lined up). I used my Epson R300M with the SureThing CD/DVD labeling program to print the PNG image on the printable DVD and it lined up as well. I use A4 paper so that may make a difference with the cover part. I guess that may be why although there were many of these cover art images floating around the net. Some may have been slightly different and hard to line up in the case properly once printed and cut. Also the original Vista DVD's come in one of those double wide "Game DVD" cases. | reply to howie said by howie :Here's the DVD and case I made a while back for my Vista SP1 DVD (created from the SP1 ISO). howie how do you get your dvd cover and your printable dvd lined up so perfectly ? A lot of the time my dvd cover the spine has a little on the front or the back of the dvd case that you can see when it is just laying down. I know it shouldn't be like this. It looks like NYR11 picture but without the white border. Your printable dvd image is a easy image to line up but how do you do it when their is a image on it on most of the dvd how do you line it up just right? |

| reply to Sandman5 Good thing you finally got it, as far as I know you were the last one from the dslr gang who was waiting for the software.
I think the USPS goofed up by charging you instead of MS for the price difference, they're supposed to send the piece of mail back to the sender asking to add the missing postage. Anyway, it was only 17 cents and you can always send MS an invoice for that plus your time and gas. |

| reply to tiny said by tiny :So, did you get your software or are still waiting? Yes I did. Last Friday I went to the post office and paid the 17 cents postage that Microsoft cheaped out on, they paid $1.00.
I got the notice on 6/5/08, the envelope was postmarked 6/2/08. So much for sending out my software right away. -- Rule #62: Don't take yourself so damn seriously! |

| reply to howie I should of known not to post that previous thread. I've already got three PM's asking for it. If I'm going to give it away for free it'll goto a friend over a stranger, sorry.
I guess my point is it would sure be nice if I could sell it. Especially if we're going to receive tax forms for it down the road that indicate the retail value of it even though technically, it has no real value. (If you haven't been following this thread someone several pages back showed evidence MS is doing this for a similar program and might do it for this one as well.) |

1 edit | reply to Sandman5 That's great news even if you have to pay those 17 cents, at least the USPS didn't send the envelope back to MS because of the missing postage and you get to receive your software sooner. Remember that Uncle Billy is (almost) retired and is probably pinching pennies now. |

| reply to tiny Hey, I got my software today...sort of. There was a notice in today's mail that I owe $0.17 postage on a large envelope from Microsoft.
Well, at least I'll have it tomorrow. -- Rule #62: Don't take yourself so damn seriously! |
