| [News] Comcast techs save 2 from fire
»www.chicagotribune.com/news/loca···86.story
quote: The cable workers were on their way to an installation job when they saw flames coming from a building at 333 N. Laramie Ave., which houses G&G Appliances & Variety on the ground floor and apartments above. The cable workers made a U-turn to come back and help, said one of them, Lucio Herrera.
The workers, who were contractors for Comcast, pulled a ladder off their truck, climbed up and banged on windows.
"If it weren't for the cable workers, I'd probably be burnt up," said Adrian Graves, 40, one of the building's residents.

| said by TD Nickell :I think this story is headed to the front page news,as it should be. yes, but note the spin on Karl's intro and the wonderful double-standard that exists with so many of the "regulars" around here.
I'm contemplating a New Years Resolution to log off of DSLR and leave these people to stew in their own natural juices. For all the help offered, there will always be the same bashing, the same guilt-by-association, the same boneheads cutting down anything you try to build up. I say screw 'em.
I work hard enough at my job. I don't need any more stress and coming here during breaks and off-hours apparently isn't doing anything for anyone, so why bother? |

| reply to CableTool These two men deserve a Hero's Kudos, but why Comcast? Comcast contractors are what Comcast uses to avoid any liability and to avoid paying a living wage, benefits etc. Maybe you shoukld mention the name of the contracting company that they for whom they truly work. |

| Capi Communications. Lets be Honest, no one mentions the contracting company when a tech falls asleep on the couch.. or some other "new worthy" item pops up.
But a tech gets kudos and people are pushing each other out of the way to get Comcasts name out of the story.
