This doesn't sit right with me. This prevents the consumer from purchasing the domain name at a different provider if he wishes. For instance, if he doesn't like how network solutions is run or finds a cheaper price he can't go somewhere else. Simple solution, don't use network solutions for anything. Don't even search using them. Starve them.

Just go to their site & enter stupid domains, porn names or abusive names like www.networksolutionsrbigpricks&iwillpurchaseelsewhere.com, they will have fun registering & holding these useless names for 5 days
