2 edits | New install of Acronis TrueImage Home v.11
Not sure if this is the right forum topic, but here goes. I recentlyy purchased ATI v11 and installed it over my old version 8. Purchase was made on line with download saved. My questions are as follows:
1) I would like to burn an archive copy of the original software on a blank CD-ROM, but when I go to do so, it sez that I may not get all that I need on the the copy. I assume this is to eliminate pirates, but I just want a backup copy. I realize I could have purchased a disk to begin with, but the $13 they wanted for it seemed overkill. Is there a way to make a backup copy?
2) Did I screw up installing over v.8? The software has never been very easy to work with, IMHO, but now I can't seem to locate a new full image back up I just did and I'm wondering if I've stuck something in the wrong place and should just start from scratch and uninstall all ATI and reinstall the new version (assuming I can - see 1 above).
3) Is there a forum that deals specifically with Acronis that I can bug instead of y'all?
Thanks for all the past help and hopefully new help.

| reply to boybanker TI11 is a few versions up from TI8, I would recommend the uninstall of the old version first.
Since you have purchased the TI11, in the future, as a registered TI11 user, you should be able to go to Acronis website to download updates and install them on your PC. Once update installation is done, you will need to create a new backup CD. The backup only uses a fraction of the CD-ROM. I have never seen "may not get all that you need on the copy".
The image backup should have "tib" as the file extension. Perform a search on your PC to locate the backup image. |

There is Wilders Security forum that has a dedicated group of folks that can help you. Only, there are never Acronis support reps there. There are just as many Acronis software users here as there....may have been better to move this to the software forum though. |

| Thanks. I think I should read the entire manual since I can't seem to see the archived files. I'm OK with formating the EHD and started over on backup storage, but everything is stored in the Acronis safe zone and I have not figured out how to format that yet. Any suggestions?
Thanks.
