@cox.net

 Will Qwest vDSL (3 mb dl) hold up for gaming/working?

I maybe moving to an area around Phoenix where Qwest is the only ISP available (the internet is pretty much the deciding factor of where I am moving to)I currently have Cox premium cable internet, and have no complaints whatsoever, but how will vDSL (3 down/896 up)hold up? I work at home, have Vonage, and also am avid Xbox live gamer. With Cox, I have no problems with all 3 going at once. What's a realistic description of Qwest vDSL capabilities?

3/896 is fine for online gaming (the 896 is more important than the 3). i had a 3/384 for years and it worked fine.

You say your doing all 3 at once, what work related things are you doing while gaming?

I'm an avid pc gamer (2-4 hours a day), wife is often chatting away over our voip service with her sister while I'm gaming with 0 issues.

Just a piece of fyi, qwest uses interleave on their lines which adds 30-40ms to your latency. Usually not a big issue if you game on west coast servers or even Texas (65-100 ping).

I usually ping 120-150 to east coast servers. Usually not an issue.

From what I understand, Xbox Live requires 128/128 per account that is signed on.
