Hmmm...I would like to know what kind of SW does that program remove because of all the Windows-related infections I got in my box it found none.
They were:
1. Various trojans 2. Ad-clickers
I had to use Housecall to remove them.

Hmmm...I would like to know what kind of SW does that program remove because of all the Windows-related infections I got in my box it found none. They were: 1. Various trojans 2. Ad-clickers I had to use Housecall to remove them. I'm currently tracking AVP(driveby),Z-lob(codec/driveby),DNS(codec/driveby),Storm,TIBS,Vundo(assorted types c/o keygens/drivebys) to name a few.
FWIW i will concede no one software gets them all,all of the time and the infections i track are really the tip of the iceberg although they keep me busy in new malwares and are amongst the most common seen in help forums
Still if you have new sources i'm always game to go a hunting

Why use a host file when you have ad block plus? Because Ad-Block only protects via your browser whereas a Hosts file protects the whole system whether your browsing or not and is not browser specific.

1 edit | Have you tried Bluetack's hosts file? It's quite large.

I few AS solutions installed in my Windows box but I rely more on hardening the system via including locking the registry and accessing the net under a limited account.

Ad-Aware SpywareBlaster Super AntiSpyware Windows Defender
Windows Defender resident and SpywareBlaster protection installed, with the other two for occasional on-demand scans.

I've been using Prevx 2.0 for the last 6 months .It was a free for a year deal on GAOTD offer. The program leaves little to no footprint in the background and verifies anything added to the computer. Since I've started using it Spybot Search & Destroy has not found one thing wrong . »www.prevx.com/ -- Team DiscoveryJoin us help fight cancer. Gooiool©2005 My Photo Site
