[Serious] Someone we all know and love dearly needs our support

In time he will come and talk to us, I am sure. Just now I suspect he is just hurting too much. If you have been a Helixer for awhile, you know him and probably love him as much as I do. You'll want to stand with me in support according to your own beliefs.

Prayer is lifted from my house on behalf of our dear friend as he faces a very great loss.

Word sure does travel fast here! For those who havent heard,my father passed away this morning at 9AM after suffering cardiac arrest. He was 82 years old and while he and I didnt always see eye to eye,we loved each other very much and had a good relationship to the end.

After falling back in Sept on the 4th and shattering his femur, he has fought one battle after another. He spent a month in ICU,2 months at 1 rehab place and 2 months at another and finally returned home just this past Wednesday. He was happy to be home even if it meant living for the time being with an aid and needing a walker to get around. He was optimistic and looking towards his future. Just last night we celebrated my sons 19th BDay at his house and his aid Felix said it was all he could talk about until he fell asleep. He awoke this morning and was enjoying his breakfast when his heart failed. He didnt suffer at all for which I am grateful and he died peacefully.

My life has changed forever now. My father in law told me once that you are not a man until your father dies and no truer words have been spoken. I fell different and out of my element here just hours after losing my Dad....the world doesnt feel the same.....

Thanks to all for the kind words......I trully appreciate them all. You all are amazing people and Im proud to have you as my friends!

 I'm sorry to here this Icky. I know the pain of recent loss of my father so I know of what you speak. You and your family have my deepest sympathies and condolences. My prayers go out to you and yours. Keep him in your memories and he will truly not be gone. Keep up the faith and know that he is in a much better place and still able to watch over you. May GOD Bless you and your family and give you the strength to get thru this.

 I am SO sorry to hear about this. It does hurt a lot for awhile, but the pain does lessen with the passage of time. I know I was hit hard when my dad died on Christmas morning, it's been 20 years & I still can't really celebrate Christmas with any enthusiasm.

I know your pain Ick. I lost my Dad when I was 25 years old. No matter what the relationship status, it's certainly true on the life-changing event.

You will make it through fine as you are strong, and in time you will learn how to live with the inevitable void.

 Wow, I am sorry to hear of this. I understand how you feel as my father passed away just over six years ago at the young age of sixty. When you see them on a regular, or even not so regular basis, it is difficult to think of them not being there. When my father passed away, it took growing up to a whole new level.

My thoughts are with you and your family. Take care of them and yourself.
