Can you be more specific about the 5GHz speed -- how did you determine this? What was the distance and number of walls (or floors) between the router and PC? Thanks, Joe
P.S. and are you using a 20MHz or 40MHz channel? |

Can you post the URL from the d-link website that has this recall info? Techs are arguing with me and my serial number is in the range you posted. |

| reply to aleic A small amount of the new D-Link DIR-855 dual-band routers, which were part of an initial product distribution, have antenna leads that were mis-configured at the factory and may perform normally but not up D-Links highest level of performance standards. The serial numbers of these units range from F30A17C000019 to F30A17C000118. If you happened to purchase one of these units, and are experiencing a weak or less-than-optimal wireless signal, you should call our corporate office (800-326-1688) where our dedicated team of support personnel will help you execute the warranty for the product.
Hope it helps .. lucky me being in the range.... |

I have been waiting for someone to post a success story about this router, but I haven't found one yet. Like many of you, I have been waiting for the DIR-855 for a long time. With the issues that have been reported I have yet to pull the trigger. If I order one, will it work? Anybody have one that functions properly? |

| reply to aleic Maybe the CS agent you talked to that day was on something and had miss informed you of something else. I just called in and they requested that I sent them my unit through their RMA process and they would immediately send out a brand new A stock unit. |

| reply to aleic ok this just gets laughable. In between the time I spoke to CS, I get a call back from Tech support telling me they are setting up an exchange. When I informed him that CS advised a full on recall was in effect he said "no thats not true, a new hardware revision is already being released and that is what you will get"
I just dont know who to believe anymore |

@rr.com
| Well I just got the call from D-link csm and have been informed that the DIR-855 is under official recall. This unit has been confirmed to have a design flaw and a fix is being worked on with no specific time frame. You will be asked to submit your receipt and a call tag issued to start a refund process.
All I can say is WHAT A BUMMER. I had such high hopes for this router. |
