Hit that nail on the head.

Ever watch 'em on CSPAN? Their aides do all of their presentations and cue cards. And they still can't get it right.

So for them, holding office while running for another isn't any different than a car salesperson handing you off to the credit department while he runs to his next victim....

They all should do as Jesse Ventura. Get in and get out, no career politicians. It makes for too many lobbyists.

I'm dating myself here, but C-Span used to be absolutely hilarious.

What I mean is: years ago, C-span's camera was actually allowed to scan the floor of the legislature whilst someone was making a speech.

And what I recall seeing, invariably, was some politician making an absolutely impassioned speech about how his Grandma's iron lung was about to give out and he needed another shilling for the meter (or whatever).

And then the camera would perform a slow pan of the floor........and you'd see a grand total of three congressmen there. And two of them would be asleep.

Of course, if there's one thing that Authority Figures absolutely cannot stand, it's looking bad. So in the early-mid 90s, (anyone remember the date) C-Span's camera became a fixed camera, rather than one roving the floor and documenting the Slackerdom for all to see.

Which meant that, from then on, the pols simply needed to make sure that they were sitting within that fixed camera's field of view to make it look like they were all present and correct.

Sad.

Aides can't vote on the floor of the House or Senate...
