Re: Hn7000s Modem

So Hughes Net tech is all right, but what about after sales support? What's their customer service base like?

For all practical purposes customer service does not exist. It does not for most other satellite plans either. You better read a couple pages of post here and then be sure you understand what you are buying. You need to be sure to understand FAP, static IP, VOIP limitations ect. If not most likely you will be very disappointed. The exception would be if you are buying one of the high end enterprise plans. What plan do you intend to buy?

Let me give you a word of advice If you have access to any other Internet options like dsl cable wireless wifi or anything but dial up you better take it because this Satellite Internet is a last resort You will have speeds close to dial up between 12noon and 12 midnight You will call hughes so many times you will have it on speed dial you will not under stand the language that is very poor English They will always give you the same bull about they have people taking care of the problem Its a never ending problem for most people so if you can get something else take my advice and do that.

For the most part, I agree with tobicat and jackpot316.

If, as you said, this is for a business, the only way that Hughes might fit your needs is with a high-end business plan.

If satellite is your only option, and it is essential to your business, then you might wat to look at business class (vs consumer class) satellite service. One if the main players in that field is iDirect (»www.idirect.net/). You may want to give them a look also.
