| [humor] Buying a dual 867 MDD, upgrades?
Seriously, shiny new.. Dual 867, lmao.
It comes with the dual 867mhz G4s, a geforce 4mx, 60gb HD, and a whopping 256MB of ram!
Oh yeah, and a wind tunnel sound system 
But I love those G4s anyway, so here's my thoughts - LOAD IT UP WITH RAM! I can get 2GB of corsair off newegg for about $120 shipped, and maybe a new hard drive (it's not a huge concern at the moment), but then my next headache is the video card..
I just bought an ADC monitor. Ugh, I can't believe I'm doing this all over again! Only, back in the day I bought a 9600XT for my old G4 for $67, these days they go for just about $167!
And then, I'd have to get a DVI to ADC adaptor (another $95).
I might just leave the video card be and upgrade the hell out of the ram - the video card sucks, but it's usable as long as leopard runs with it. I know that means no core image, but a Geforce 4Ti (about the only card I can afford that'd fit everything), costs just as much and doesn't support core image either.
What do you guys think?
It's ironic because with all these upgrades the damn thing would cost me as much as a Mac Mini, be slower, but still be able to hold a LOT more HD space |

I'm always tempted to pour cash into vintage Macs, but I restrain myself (as best I can) and save for current/future models... makes more sense in the end for my practical needs  . |

The MDD still hasn't (to my knowledge) been shipped, or at least, the dude is really laxing out on sending me emails right now o_O He said he would yesterday, but nothing.. he better this afternoon!
That said, the 20" Cinema I picked up to go with the machine (FWIW: Both are said to be new!) came today, and sure enough, while it's not giving me a new apple scent high, it is definitely virgin! (box had seals, monitor was in the foam sealed bag, the display has no swirls anywhere, something those clear polycarbonate bezels are notorious for), and it's.. great.
If only I could use it! However, ADC was a big plus - when you have an ADC machine, there's not a single F-ing brick to get in your way And they're beautiful, I paid $350 for this, a bit more than a used example, but the backlight is fresh, and it has a great S-IPS panel, why wouldn't I?! *drool*
That, and it's unique.. and awesome. *grin* I was going to get this regardless of the G4
