[Connectivity] Northern IL appears slower speeds that should be

I have been checking speed tests with www.testmy.net as download doesnt appear to show powerboost. In the test it shows i am not running 100% of my speed and appears to be capped at 6mb instead of 10 mb. I am wondering if anyone else has this issuse as i cant get Comcast to fix as they tell me i have the broadband 10.0 from comcast and only get 6mb. They even told me my Emta is capped at 6mb down and 384 upload but they keep saying they dont offer 10mb and this is what u get. I am looking for more feedback from other people because this isnt right as the transition stated u should recieve 10 as a new Comcast customer.

I'm in Lombard, and I have noticed huge slowdowns in the last week or two.

I just check everyday for UVerse in hopes that I can finally leave this horrible company (Comcast).

twogood4u, It sounds like you were given correct information. Now that you have been switched to Comcast, you are a Comcast customer. Comcast doesn't have a tier to match the one you had with Insight and you now, apparently, do have the 6/384 tier. If that isn't what you want, you need to call Comcast to negotiate for what you do want. There is nothing this forum can do to help you with that.

If you want forum assistance in optimizing to get the best you can out of the tier you have, please read the following FAQ and provide the information requested for assistance with slow speeds.

»Comcast High Speed Internet FAQ »How To Get Help!

Quick, if you would like similar assistance, please start your own topic and provide your infomation.

Rants which are just that, rants, belong in the Rants, Raves and Praise Forum. Thanks for your cooperation.

Those who just want to compare notes and, perhaps, grieve over what you feel you have lost after being switched from Insight to Comcast, please join this topic --->

Well, Comcast may not be offering the tier to new subscribers that didn't have Insight, but customers of Insight that have transitioned to Comcast will be keeping their 10.0 service - per the letter that Comcast sent out to all Insight subscribers and even per our first bill.
