Has anyone noticed the Max rate varies? I have checked and seen it be 65xxx, 64xxx and 62xxx. The RG has never reset during this time it's just the Max rate differs.

I've had tech's out to my house 3 times so far. The latest one moved my port in the V-RAD. Now I'm getting close to 10mg on my download speeds, but my upload has dropped to .5mb. I'm hoping that at least my tv's will stop locking up and my dsl will stop dropping. |

Did the tech tell you how far you are from the VRAD? Your MAX Sync is half mine. I am 2024' away from the VRAD> |

| reply to gdm He tells me I am running at about 2,500' from the VRAD on his test EQ. I know the loop length is supposed to be about 2,137' per cable records. I told him and the tier 2 tech support people this, but they keep ignoring it. I also informed them I am an engineer with the company and my peer pulled up my cable makeup and footage. I figured they haven't tried moving my service to a new port yet so I'd give them a chance at that before demanding they send out a cable repair tech to find the resistance points on my cable facilities. At the moment, everything is running a TON better than before. this is how it looks now after a couple of hours. |

Similar to ADSL, the 'max rate' will change based on line stats eg. My max rate varies from ~6100 to 7100kbps, along with my noise margin. My attenuation varies a little (~0.5db) as does output power.
Sad thing is that AT&T will only qualify me for 'Express' even though I've been on 'Pro' for +3 years.

Honestly to me your sync rate should be in the mid 40's or higher. This is the link to the MDC »192.168.1.254/xslt?PAGE=J05_BB_C···ASS=dsl0 |

I told him and the tier 2 tech support people this, but they keep ignoring it. Field footage is field footage. I think it is best that the records reflect what is in the field, not the other way round. The only way I know to make the field match what is on the records is to drag the house closer to the VRAD. 400ft difference between records and the field is minimal. That is less that a half a block of cable. Based on the rest of the stats, I would say the a port change may be the next step. I would post is Direct as gdm said and see if they can help. |
