You really need to take a class on reading comprehension. I have never said anywhere in this thread that it's ok. You and boy genius need to troll elsewhere.

imrf has sank to new lows. If wow asked him to bend over he would. And probably ask you to do the same without question.

To add to switchtechs post, that's the thing with cookiewall. It uses very little resources. That's one reason I like it. You can put those cookies in the KILL list so every time you "visit" that site, it gets deleted. If you just have to have a cookie, you can put one in the keep bin but everything else you want deleted, will get just that. But as it's been stated, using your browser is nice but I've found that no matter how you tweak it, sometimes, it will hinder you from some websites, whereas cookiewall doesn't stop you from going there, it just gets rid of the cookies after you get into the front door. I do review what new cookies I get in cookiewall and move them to the kill zone. But after a few weeks of surfing, you will have a pretty good list of cookies that get crumbled. My objective is to get rid of ANYTHING my ISP or other sites can use to help them make money off my clicks.

If I can't run an ethernet cable to my neighbors and charge him for using the internet to help pay the internet bill, then WOW should not be able to sell my info to others so they can help pay their bill.

ohhh... c'mon JD you aren't going anywhere.

Maybe once other ISPs around here actually start competing and offering faster speeds, or better channel lineups, then I'll look into them, until then I'm not going anywhere.

I don't mind my isp knowing what I do, but when they allow others to do so it becomes a huge problem. This basically amounts to them selling my info. They are getting paid by another party to view what I do. As I said, if it was WOW only then no problem. Others without my consent is wrong. No big deal though, I have them blocked and will keep a closer eye on their website for any further TOS changes.(as well as my cookies, so hands off, lol)

I don't recall getting a revised TOS from them.
I've seen them in the bills before.

As for it doing nothing then I guess I'm good with them monitoring my surfing habits if you say its ok.
Cookies or not, they know where you go every second of the day, they are after all, your ISP.

What does all this exactly do?
Nothing.

Something like this should not be legal.
It's in the TOS, every time you pay your bill you agree to it. WOW sends out updated TOS' as they edit them. It's up to you to read it.

Thats stooping to a new low level then. This is really bogus. What does all this exactly do? I have the ABP add on for Firefox. Am I preventing all this crap or no? Something like this should not be legal.

I dont use WOWs dns servers(haven't for as long as I can remember) and they were on my computer,so it doesn' appear that servers matters. I guess its up to us/you/me to review their TOS weekly to ensure we can't say we did not know. I don't like the idea of cookies being set if I opt out either. Opt out is what it means. If I don't want it then don't put it on my computer unless I explictly allow it.Period.

I installed cookiewall and don't see any of these. Do you have to be using WOW's DNS or what?

This could be a way for WOW to generate extra cash since the offer lower prices than most other Isp's. As far as them selling private info, that could be a sticky situation as it does happen.Does anyone know if this happens with comcast or any isp's in WOW's markets? It would be interesting to know. Also you should change your dns servers to something other than WOW's as I recall search redirects were happening with WOW.
