Comcast wants you to have an @comcast email address, not @patmedia. It's free advertising for them to have their name in your email address. Years ago Comcast took over E. Brunswick and they got 3 days notice that their email was changing according to my friend who lives there. Hopefully today email is more engrained and they realize it will take more than 3 days to change my email at the hundreds of places that have it. And no I'm not going to change it to @comcast, I've got my own domain now so I'm not linked to my ISP. |

| I like the idea of being able to use MS Outlook to read/track my messages, I have messages going back years.
However, I just noticed that gmail supports IMAP mail so maybe I'll try that. Not sure if any of the other services offers it for free. |

| Gmail also supports smtp & pop, as does Lavabit.
Fastmail & AIM (the free AOL mail)support IMAP.
If you could get through a little German, GMX.net, is a great provider that's been around for years, that provides free pop & smtp along with 1 Gig of storage. Gmail, I believe, gives you more than 6 Gigs. -- Z-Man |
