I am curious how SDV will affect my Tivo since I am in the Dallas area?
It wont be positive. Last i knew it made the TiVo a paperweight but TiVo was working on a solution, I cant remember if I saw they found one yet. -- BlockNews.Net

Yes, there is a solution, it's called a "tuning resolver" and it's a modem sized unit that'll be issued by the cable company for these sorts of situations. The Tivo will need a software update and an open USB port.
