Re: Book Forum Request

Amusing, Oprah and an adultspace comment *Sigh* Proof apparently is in this pudding.

Thought it might spark an interest and tried...

»Books, I think this fits with H&F.

Fell pretty flat, BBR has a very wide forum base and for some strange reason I thought Health & Fitness would be the right place...

I don't think the reading camp is very large, except in short forum responses. Would have liked a 'Book' forum, but as mentioned, don't think the crew around here would support it or go for it and evidently the first attempt was a rather dismal failure, of course people may not belong nor visited where it was

Perhaps that's why folks know so little of their own historical accounts, in any given country and why many will repeat the same errors ~Ok, so that was a 'Partial' steal from an old saying.LOL

Perhaps tagged by genre? [horror] [sci-fi] [mystery] [thriller] [fantasy]...etc. ad nauseum?

What I meant by mentioning Oprah, is that Oprah has a book club and so should we. I don't understand why everyone is against books.
Nobody here said they were against books.

However, a general forum about ebooks might be worth consideration.

Although I will agree that a book forum is not computer/broadband related, DSLR is more of a social outlet for many, and there are MANY non-broadband related forums already, so that is a LOUSY reason to object to it (IN MY OPINION).

I personally LOVE to read, (although OPRAH'S choices ain't mine), and have noticed that it seems to be a dying art these days. IMHO, anything that might encourage others to pick up a book is GREAT by me!

Everyone should read a book sometime, check out the free e-books at »www.tor.com and »www.baen.com
Actually, even though I said in my post "What is a book anyway?", I still do read books. If it wasn't for books, I wouldn't have known how to put my forks back together on my motorcycle, or would not have known that I can do temperature compensation w/ my FlowHood...
