Hard starting power washer

Long story short, I purchased this PW from Lowe's yesterday and from the get go, it has been hard to start. On average it will take 6 pulls to start it. If it runs out of fuel, it takes longer "12 + pulls". This is a major pain in the ass! Starter fluid doesn't even help!

Does anyone have this model# 20295 ?

Are you priming it and using the choke?

Oh I want to Choke it believe me but, it doesn't have one. Throttle set to Fast/Run and used the Primer bulb as per instructions. Fuel is new and I don't see any trash in the can. Haven't had any problems with the same fuel in 2 other mowers.

If the gap in the spark plug out of spec would that effect it? Once it starts it runs fine.

I know the feeling. Well, I'm thinking once it starts, it runs fine then the spark plug gap should be okay. I guess you could check it, since it's a fairly easy task, that is, if you have a spark plug gap gauge. The manual says 0.020 (0.50mm). Other than that, I don't know what else to recommend. I don't have a pressure washer, but I plan on getting one in the near future. I don't understand why it doesn't have a choke. All my engines have one.

On my Toro snow blower, the instructions say to hold the primer button in for a second B4 you take your finger off of it and repeat. So push, HOLD, release primer button. Give this method a try.

I have a mower with the primer bulb and no choke. I found that a couple of extra bulb presses made it much easier to start when cold.

Thanks fellows! I finally finished the driveway. Next up is the patio and the area around the pool. I'll try stroking the bulb a little longer/slower and see if that helps "no pun intended"! If not, disassembly time, repackage and head back to Lowe's!

My parents bought a different model that had a similar problem. They exchanged it for another and that one started much better.

My trimmer can be a real beast. I even injured my wrist one time trying to start that thing. I found if I added fuel stabilizers (even to new fuel) it seemed to start better.

On my weed wackier I don't have a choke on it. I have to press a primer buld on. Press slow on the bulb about 4 times and try that.
