Re: Help CAIP in it's CRTC submission re throttling via Bell

This is *excellent* folks!

As Canadians, we can often be (fairly) labelled as complacent or lasser-faire when things don't go our way - This is how things are changed - By people voicing their opinions to those in power - Believe me, those who pay the lobbyists do *exactly* that and they get their way.

If you've submitted your response to the CRTC - Thank you, on behalf of both ISPs and affected Canadians. Now, we need to let our MPs know that this issue is important to us, that "Letting the market decide" is not sufficient when talking about a monopoly's control over something as important as Internet access.

If you need help finding your MP, you can use this link to find your MP by postal code (Link to Government of Canada website)

No clue, but I'm pretty sure this has got to be one of if not the highest public response they've had on anything to date.

Apparently the total is much higher than 1100... As I hear it, if they add everyone that has submitted, we should be somewhere between 2k and 3k+ somewhere.
I wouldn't be surprised. My own comments weren't posted for weeks after I originally posted. I wonder what the true number is. What kind of effect can comments from the public actually have on the CRTC's decision?

We're now at 1084 comments by the public. Of course, I'm assuming that they are all in support of CAIP. I haven't come across any in support of Bell. Anyone check if Jason Laszlo commented?

seems like the CRTC did some web page updates.

There's about 800 submissions online now by the people in support of CAIP.

Keep it going, and don't let up!

If you are copying/pasting the text from the first post of this topic & your VOIP or VPN is affected just add (in addition to the pre-written text for you) that you VPN/VOIP is inoperable at the times of the throttle and how it affects you work or even can affect emergency 911 calls, or whatever you care to add.

Lets try and get 1000 submission up there by early next week!

Be aware of:
»Is your VoIP or VPN affected by Bell's throttling practices?

Same as this one, but that link asks if you have VOIP or VPN problems to submit them to the CRTC
