Bottom line:
You need a router. Unless you buy static IP address from Verizon for each PC, a switch will not give a PC an IP that it needs. The single IP that Verizon supplies you is all that you will get which is only good for 1 PC at a time. A router will be able to take that IP and with DCHP make multiple IP's for each device connected to it.
If you want it to work, use the VZ supplied Actiontec router. Then you can attach the switch to one of its LAN ports for added wired connections. |
