| When Gold Has No Value...
So, what does everyone else do once they reach this point that the prospect of more gold becomes a, "so what?" I've kinda hit that, and I'm sitting on 6k gold in liquid assets, a bank alt w/ 10k+ amount of stashed enchanting/gems/mats, and no real gold-purchaseable upgrades left for my characters.
So...my questions are this:
1. Anyone else in this situation? Just wondering if it's becoming more common in TBC than previously in pre-TBC.
2. Anyone ever find a way out of this situation? I guess I could take a crafting trade, but it just feels like a rather huge investment for nigh-laughable rewards, especially on my hunter. |

AquaBlaze, i'm at that point now. i have enough to sustain me until the exp comes out. the dailies, green & blue drops and 1 purple drop, DE'ing stuff and mining here and there, keep me well ahead of anything i need to purchase, i.e. consumables. probably going to level a Warrior (buy anything i need) and start tanking for people. large amounts of gold are so not necessary once you get to max level and get your max level mount.

The crafting is a legitimate avenue, but I already went crafting-for-gear on my other alt/main spriest. I like the free funds/mats that come from having 2 gathering professions on my Hunter, and leveling LWing up to 375 for a few small upgrades seems more a pain in the ass than its worth.
As for sunmotes...well, at the current rate of things, I don't think we'll be seeing those on the AH until maybe a month before expansion is slated to release. At that point, gross piles of money or not, I'd have to be retarded to dump thousands into gear that'll be easily replaced by level 80s blues. |

Mining's fun too...but again, when money's no object, I just hoard the mats I fetch up. The "what to do" problem just gets exacerbated when you're getting 100g+ a day for nothing, plus you have a bank alt that has everything and anything you might need for gear enchants/upgrades/etc. in plentiful reserve. My only expenditures are repairs, maybe tipping people, and that's hardly enough to combat the rate of gold I slowly accumulate a day.
...plus, Blizzard seems to love this character in terms of giving loot. In 2 years playing pre-TBC and nearly a year into TBC, I never got a single world epic. In the course of playing my hunter at 70, I've picked up 3. It all just becomes more money for my "Scrooge McDuck"-like gold pile. |

I buy stupid and ridiculous stuff off the AH for my alt. I stopped picking herbs or mining when I see veins. I loan (lol) money to my friends who are broke. I wish I knew somebody with that spectral tiger mount or could find a guild to farm kael with me for the phoenix. I'd blow 10k on either of those.... |

Imagine the expansion introducing a new level of currency above gold, (ie. platinum) and you can convert 100 gold (or 1000 gold?) into 1 plat.
Additionally, the price for things in the expansion end up costing more too.
How's that for fixing the inflation problem?
But then the problem will be : the quests and drops in the expansion pay out so much money that even though the economy may be balanced for the new prices of things in the expansion, buying anything from the old world would be a drop in the bucket including even the flying mounts.
Ah...wouldn't that suck if they raised the price of flying mounts after the expansion came out and if you didn't have one yet the only way to realisticly be able to afford one is to buy the expansion where the gold flows even more freely...

I bought everything i can buy, the best epic leg enchants, epic flyers and I'm a BS and have made both the 2H and 1H series 3 maces that take vortexs. The 2H i had to get the vortexs the hard way doing ssc and tk but the 1H I just bought them just to spend and waste some of my gold.
After a few days I made back all the G i wasted to buy all the mats for all three 1H maces |

Don't you people ever raid? 1 flask - 80g. Repair bills - 50g. Pots - hella gold. And that's per raid. Times 3-4 raids per week... I'm with Tehuno on this one.
