From what I can see, you cannot turn the 2701HG-D's firewall completely off, exactly. I've been told this by Qwest tech support. I was kinda bummed because it seems that this firewall was causing issues with me connecting to some authenticating servers. Then when I looked again at the firewall configuration, I saw that there's a "Allow All Traffic" radio button. I selected it, and restarted my computer, it got a new IP address and everything has been good since then. The firewall will still be 'active' it'll just be allowing all traffic.

| Keep in mind when your device is in DMZ+ ( the allow all applications option) all unsolicited inbound traffic will automatically forwarded to your computer(the firewall will still be doing SPI on the connections).I would recommend enabling a software firewall if you plan to run a windows pc with the 2wire's firewall disabled. |

Enter “192.168.0.1” in the address bar of your Internet browser. Then, select the Firewall tab.
