iPod and Podcasts

After listening to a podcast or watching a video podcast it gets erased or at least becomes unavailable on my IPod.

It's still there on iTunes and I can mark it as new to put it back on my iPod.

I do this regularly with some instructional podcasts about photography that I want to keep but it's a pain.

Is there a way to set this up so they don't become unavailable on my iPod until I chose to delete them?

Thanks

If you check your podcast settings on the iPod you probably have N "unplayed" podcasts selected. I don't think there is any way to make any podcast "sticky" unless you make them all "sticky."

My problem is usually the opposite, a podcast that I've viewed (it's usually video podcasts) stays loaded even though I've viewed it to the bitter end.

Where do I find these podcast settings and the "N "unplayed" podcasts selected" settings?

I think that lets you keep them on the computer which I already do. I want to keep them on the iPod until I chose to delete them.
