| Cable Modem Firmware
I've been looking into my cable modems at my Mom's and Dad's house (One is one of the Scientific Atlanta modems, one is a Motorola TJ715x). The SA one actually has a firmware upload page once you unlock "Level 2" access.
That's not really what I'm interested in though. I was wondering if anyone knows how to get the firmware itself. Not on your modem, but on your computer. I would have a lot of fun snooping around it if I could. Seems like the modems download the firmware (when necessary) from Comcast TFTP servers, anyone know the addresses of those?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, ~nog_lorp |

@comcast.net | reply to nog_lorp I don't want to flash my firmware silly (and it does appear possible on the SA modem), I said that. I want to disassemble them and see if there are hidden urls I haven't yet found, or ways of enabling shell or snmp or etc.

| Yup. Actually, SA's modem web forms all seem to interface with SNMP (as if they lazily used snmp just internally for configuration). I'll give some examples next time I'm at that house.
Anyways, if anyone has any ideas... like addresses of provider tftp servers, tell me plz |

The TJ715X is a Terayon Modem...not Motorola...unless it is being cross labelled by somebody.
