[DVR] Deleting channels

Can you delete channels from the DVR like you can from a TV after it scans for channels?

No, but you can set Favorites. Only your CATV provider can remove channels from the lineup on the STB.

I would say that is the #1 needed feature on the Motorola boxes...its completely ridiculous that you can customize which channels display and which ones don't. I have heard this from many friends who have them as well.

I can only assume that it is because of SELFISH reasons that they do not want users to be able to do this.

I would like to take the shopping channels, MTV crap, and movie channels I don't get out of the default channel list...but NOoooo they would rather not loose some marketing opportunities than actually give people what they want.

That ois what the Favorites list is for. I have 5 Favorites set up on my 6412, that went with the move to Comcast (News, Family, Sports, Music, HD), and we use them more then just the regular guide.

What's The Difference?

Taking channels out of the main list, or putting channels into a fav list?

Re: [DVR] Deleting channels

Well, that is all nice and all, but you have to PUSH THE FAV button...I want to be able to modify the default channel list like you can on EVERY OTHER PVR, TV, VCR etc in the world.

If you could set a default favorite or something that always showed up that might be ok..but really my guess is that the cable companies are just being greedy and don't want you to be able to hide the pay-per-view etc from the default channel list.

Ah, yeah, I see what you are saying. It would make sesne to be able to set which FAV is the default.
